IHC Happenings

This is the second day of IHC. IHC is always interesting and this year is no exception. I am staying in a hotel with my entire family of 6. Try having one bathroom with at least 3 prima donnas in the bunch. Oh the joys of close quaters! But I have enjoyed seeing everyone and catching up with the latest news. EFM had a board meeting that I went to and they accepted a new missionary, Maria Hunsacker. I was excited cause she is a another single missionary and we might be able to travel together. At least the board will be a little less worried about me traveling places. The board also recieved an evaluation of my teaching ablities. I was relieved to here a good report. Thats always a load of the mind.

Its been cool to see so many friends from camp, school or just traveling. There have also been a lot of Bedford people here. But also, with traveling with deputation I met people that have been at the churches I spoke at. I am real good at remembering faces but I'm awful with names. So lots of times people will come up and talk to me and I can fake my way through a conversation. I know it sounds awful but when they come up and ask "Do you remember me?" I don't know what to say. I most of the time I don't. The worst was when some lady said she was Shelly's great grandmother and I don't know any Shelly. I have never seen this lady before in my life. So not know what else to say I said, "Oh how is Shelly?" We had a whole conversation about a girl while I pretended to act like I knew what I was talking about. I guess thats when being an actress comes in handy. I felt rude saying, Lady who in the world are you. So after a while this kind women asked my name and told me she was going to tell Shelly I said hi. Poor girl, she will probably have no idea what her great grandmother is talking about. You meet all types here that is for sure.
But the services have been good. Noel Scott preached an awesome message about sanctification on Tuesday night. He told about his experience and how he came to be sanctified. It was really helpful to hear someone's own testimony. He was funny yet serious at the same time. Another good speaker was Sis. Crouse. She told her testimony in Women of Worth. She talked about how God led in her life. Those proably have been the best services. I got a lot out of them. God has been speaking to me about some things in my life through these services. I guess its good yet a little uncomfortable at times. But I guess that is what it takes sometimes to move up spiritually.
The preaching at most of the services have been extremely extremely extremely long! Br. Stetler preached 1 hour and 20 minutes. And Noel Scott (as good as it was) preached an hour and ten minutes. They need to teach a class on short preaching at bible school. But overall IHC has been fun, interesting and inciteful.
